Exciting News: YES Pacific Ocean Oregon Albacore Tuna Run

Great news! Our Oregon Albacore tuna run occurs

between June and October, and though our fleet

may need to venture up to 100 miles offshore to

find them, in some years they can be found as

close as 20 miles.

Tuna season runs all year, the tuna follow the warm water, looking for 60+ degrees and following the bait/feed wherever it leads.  The current off Oregon warms up as the summer goes by and brings the tuna.

Yes, each tuna is hand line caught and bled out immediately.  

Our fleet has Ice boats and blast boats. Ice boats use ice slush to cool fish to storage temp and then pack the tuna in Ice for length of trip, never more then 3 days. Blast boats have special Blast freezers on board to ensure each fish is instantly frozen for Sushi grade preservation of the whole tuna until offload.  This process allows the boats to fish longer periods.  The Blast is thawed at the processing plant and cut to order.  Sushi means frozen at sea.  All our Tuna is current season harvest, no hold over

Yes, all fresh tuna is caught and bought daily and weekly from the local fleet and processed at a commercially inspected facility.  

Our local fleet follows ODFW laws and best practices. Dolphin free, hand line caught tuna. STOP Entanglement processes are in place for all Crab, Shrimp, and Squid.  We are commercially Licensed in Oregon with the ODFW, ODA & OMB. 

We are anticipating Fresh seasonal tuna Blast and Ice possibly by August if the water temperatures ar up.

**We will be taking orders for PICK UP Thursday through Sundays this year.

**All prices are subject to open Market fluctuations and availability.

**Our Charleston Fleet will be hard at it bringing you local Iced or Blast fresh Tuna as soon as possible.

** All orders are based on Whole Fish poundage. All orders include Fillet finished when you pick up. No whole fish in "The Round" available!!

Pacific Albacore,   Our facility works with large volume and work with 50% numbers, usually works out to over 50%.

Our Fillet cutters work very hard to produce the best yield while providing the cleanest cuts for loins and all trim.

Pacific Albacore tuna off the Oregon Coast are between 12 and 35 pounds and can be up to 60 pounds at times.  

If you order 50# of tuna, yield will be 25#

Plan for a pound a pint or half pound per half pint. 

25 pounds of loins will take 25 pints or 50 half pint jars.

When ordering Fresh tuna fillets, Tuna is a 50% yield after cutting.  You pick up your order clean fresh and ready to can.

  Shipping of any fresh products is optional and sent by special chill packaging. This can cost over $200.00 just for shipping depending on pounds. Not recommended for large orders. Crab, and other seafood will ship as next day delivery only.

For all our canned tuna products we ship with USPS custom to order.  All cans are wrapped and securely packaged.  All shipments are sent with a USPS tracking number sent to you via text or email.  If shipping to a PO Box please call or email instructions to us directly, we handle all our labels in house personally at this time and will do everything to make sure you receive your order in a timely and safe manner.
